Stick to the link above. As a side note (if I recall correctly) with my eeepc 901 I hit a key at the start of boot up (F8?) and pop menu allows me to choose which of the connected devices to boot from. I think I needed to do that to boot from USB when I installed Debian.

EDIT: Just looked it up and it seems the key for a boot menu is ESC. However, you'll still need to prepare the USB appropriately first.
