Hi, I've been trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. The problem is installation fails, because the installer does not have permissions to install files into the windows folder. It cannot install the Microsoft VC80_ATL and VC90_ATL. I've runned as Administrator, Tried to manually install the VC.msi installers, I've turned off AV,AS,Defender,Firewall and so on, I've tried installing through Command Prompt running as administrator and writing msiexec /a 'file destination'.

Still no luck, Tried installing from desktop, tried safe mode, nothing works!! Installer log is long, so I'll say only that it gives Exit Code 6.I've been waiting a long time now, hoping adobe will release a fix, but theres none. Hi guys, I had the same problem and the following worked for me.

I have been running a beta version of IBM Lotus Symphony on my system. (That is IBM's implementation of the Open Office standard, essentially a freeware version of Microsoft Office.) I dug around and found that I should be running an official release version. So I downloaded that & tried to install it. It gagged part way through saying it couldn't find a certain.msi file. The installation process appeared to install hundreds upon hundreds of files in the most elaborate of directory structures. They were in Program Files (x86), Documents and Settings, Users, and those are just the ones I foound on my own. But late in the process it said it was now going to uninstall the beta version & that's when it said it needed a Symphony CD with a.msi file on it.

It started out by trying to run the application uninstaller, same as I have been trying to do unsuccessfully ALL STINKIN' DAY, and it got the same stupid error I've gotten quite sick of. But then it continued on to the deep scan parts. It turned up hundreds of registry entries to delete. I said ditch them all.

And then it turned up dozens of directories and files. I said ditch them all. With crossed fingers (which makes it a bit hard to type) I tried YET AGAIN to install Lotus Symphony.
